When Matt Jackson and Phil Simpson met at University, little did they know that the stars of the beer world had aligned. The pair founded C2 Investment in 2002 and amongst other pub and beer related pursuits, set up Lancaster Brewery in 2005.
If you’ve heard of Lancaster Brewery, you’ll probably sampled the Blonde, Black, Amber and Red (the core range of ales) and the seasonal and limited edition ‘T’ales from the Brewhouse’ specials. But it’s not just ale you’ll get from Lancaster Brewery, as it has just recently come out with a “probably quite good” Lancaster T’ales Lager.
As one of the North West’s largest regional brewers, Lancaster Brewery sells throughout the UK, as well as in China and Eastern Europe. If you want to take a look behind the scenes of this growing enterprise of brewing prowess, you can - every day of the week.
The brewery tours at Lancaster give visitors a fascinating look into their brewing world, as well as offering some whistle-whetting samples! Here, you’ll find out about what makes this northern beer-maker unique. They’ll talk about their efforts to be environmentally friendly, how it mills its malt on the same day as brewing, and how it feeds local pigs with leftover ingredients!
Lancaster Brewery is now branching out into another project... Lancaster Distillery. Creating both gin and vodka, Lancaster Distillery is just part of what Lancaster Brewery and C2 Investment as a whole has to give its local area and lovers of quality drinks in the coming years.
