December 2023Beer Club Tasting Notes

Vale Brewery have been making their award-winning beers just outside Aylesbury since 1995. At that time the beer landscape was dominated by large, national brewers with big marketing budgets, but some of their beers lacked variety or character.

Vale Brewery was created to step into the breach, providing the good folk of Buckinghamshire and beyond with flavourful ales. Founded by two brothers, the ethos that ran through Vale has always been balance. They stand for well hopped, full-bodied brews that can be enjoyed either at home or in the pub. These are beers for drinking, not for chin-stroking.
Head Brewer Dave Renton has been at Vale since 1999, and under his experienced eye the adherence to the highest standards has never taken a back seat. Twenty two years later, with numerous awards and accolades under their belts, the original founders retired and the brewery passed to new ownership: two more brothers, Joe and Jimmy Brouder.
Together with Dave, the boys are bringing new styles to the table, whilst ensuring that old favourites will continue to be enjoyed for years to come.
The Vale range comprises of 5 bottled ales, from the super-easy drinking Brill Gold to rich malty bitter Red Kite. The line up is completed by smooth chocolatey Black Beauty Porter, the flagship pale ale Gravitas and ‘Champion Beer of Britain’ Runner Up hoppy VPA.
Complimenting the bottle range is the new core keg beers available in 440ml can: zesty and refreshing session IPA Skyhopper, punchy English pale ale Vale Pale, and crisp and hoppy pilsner Wingman.
