Bays Brewery in Paignton, Devon, is a family-run brewery that has been creating exceptional, multi-award-winning beers in the stunning coastal resort 17 years and counting.
It began life when brothers Mark and Peter Salmon joined forces with their brother-in-law Will Freeland to realise their dream of creating quality beer inspired by their hometown. Their first two brews, Best and Gold, proved a hit among pub goers seeking a tipple to quench their thirst.
A string of other ales swiftly followed suit, with the much-loved brewery today serving up three permanent ales, Topsail, Pure Gold and Devon Dumpling, all offering a distinct flavour of Devon, alongside its Windfall Cider.
In June 2015, Bays jumped on the craft beer bandwagon with the launch of its Devon Rock Craft Lager which has fast become a firm favourite, winning multiple regional and national awards.
More recently, the brewery added the hugely popular Devon Cove Pale Ale to its growing pint portfolio, with a low-alcohol alternative Rock Steady making its debut in June 2021.
The team are committed to reducing its carbon footprint with 60% of its electricity usage covered by roof-top solar panels which help power the brew process. In the summer months, this increases to 90% of its beers being brewed by the power of sunshine.
Bays is fiercely committed to supporting the community and has raised more than £27K in partnership with Paignton Zoo to help protect a number of endangered species including rhinos, giraffes, elephants, gorillas and orangutans
